Dead Beaked Whales Found on Beach: The World's Most Elusive Whale Species

Two dead beaked whales, known to be the most elusive whale species in the world, were found on a beach. The discovery is significant for many reasons beyond the excitement of finding such a rare species. Humans have caused extensive damage to the oceans by depleting fish stocks, slaughtering dolphins and whales, and polluting coastal waters. Much of this disregard stems from our limited daily visibility of ocean life; if we can't see what's there, we can't fully grasp what we're destroying.
